The Vision for the NSW Catholic Charismatic Renewal
The Vision for the NSW CCR Is not so much to draw people to itself for the sake of ‘numbers’ but rather, as with the twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus, to draw people to Jesus.
The Vision for the CCR, therefore, is to enable those who do not know Jesus and who he is for them, to come into a personal relationship with him through an experience of the Holy Spirit.
This new experience of the Holy Spirit is known as theBaptism in the Holy Spiritwhich is the grace through which one receives a new outpouring of the Holy Spiritand the anointing for discipleship; that is, for proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is alive.
A further aspect of this Vision is that the CCR is not only to be a community of prayer, fellowship and outreach through discipleship, but also to give God glory in using theGifts of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The CCR is also called to be Ecumenical.
Pope Francis in 2017 said: “This is to be your task: evangelisation, spiritual ecumenism, care of the poor and needy and hospitality to the marginalised. And all this on the basis of adoration. The foundation of the Renewal is to adore God!”
The Vision of the CCR is to breathe in the Holy Spirit and breathe out the Holy Spirit.
