Aug 2019 Voice of the Spirit

As Sunday, 9 June, dawned in Sydney, the sun slowly but surely rose to herald a truly blessed day for our traditional Pentecost celebration at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Greystanes. And blessed it was! Beginning with a time of Praise and Worship led by Mark Mordini and the Disciples of Jesus Music Ministry, an atmosphere of joyful gratitude and expectation permeated the Church as, gathered “in that one place”, all lifted their hearts and voices in praise of God. Fr. Tony Alex MGL was our main Mass Celebrant and afternoon speaker.
Concelebrating the Mass were Fathers.Hugh Thomas CSsR,Alfredo Cerrano and Zac Gayed. Fathers Paul Glynn SM and Chinoyne Akamadu were also present.....

May 2019 Voice of the Spirit

The first “Encounter” (formerly “Formation”) Day for 2019 was held in St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, Rozelle, on Saturday, 23 March. The message for the day “New Graces in Unity” relating it to “The Power of Two Streams”, was presented throughout by Matt
Humphreys, the National Youth Representative for CCR Australia. Matt, who is a very interesting and inspiring young man with an equally interesting background, opened all present to the movement of the Spirit with the statement, “Jesus is taking us into a new encounter with Him.”
He proceeded to speak of how worship is a catalyst for young people to give their lives to God, which is a struggle for so many. He found that praise and worship times allowed them to have an experience of God’s presence and went on to say that, during worship, we need space to hear God speak to our hearts. Worship is not simply singing song after song; space is also needed to
listen to God.

Feb-2019 Voice Of The Spirit

Oh, what a truly blessed two dayswith Jesus, Jim Murphy and the200 sisters and brothers who gathered for the 2019 CCR Retreat
held this year at St. Agatha’s, Pennant Hills! A fullreport of this deeply enriching and challenging spiritual experience would require much more space than can be provided here; what follows, therefore, is a brief summary of a truly blessed weekend.
Jim emphasised that our time together was a Retreat and not a Conference and so we were constantly invited to prayerful quiet and reflection on the theme:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirt, says the Lord.” (Zech.4:6) - a message of restoration giving hope to God’s people....

Nov-2018 Voice Of The Spirit

The greatest leader who ever walked this earth came from a poor Jewish background and was born in a stable. His
mother came from a small town in Galilee; his father was a carpenter and no doubt he taught the trade to his son.
One can imagine that, as a child, he was as mischievous as any other; in fact, we know that at one stage when his
parents took him to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of the Passover, he wandered off leaving themwith the dilemma of trying to find him in the milling crowd. After three days they discovered him in the Temple where, young and all as he was, he had the undivided attention of the ‘hierarchy’. He then returned with his mystified parents to their little home in Nazareth where he lived under their authority for thirty years in what one could call ‘a hidden life’.
